H i p R e s u r f a c i n g This procedure is more bone saving as the head of the femur is not completely removed. Instead of removing it is reshaped in order to receive a ball type metal implant that will fit into a receiving acetabular cup implant. No stem will be implanted into the femoral shaft. This procedure is often used for patients under the age of 55. Our surgeons will be happy to help you determine if you are a candidate for this procedure. This type of procedure has been used since the late nineties and is considered a standard procedure in Germany.
