Since 2001, quality management in Asklepios Group Hospitals is oriented towards the quality procedures of the “Kooperation für Transperenz und Qulität im Gesundheitswesen (KTQ) (Cooperation for transparency and quality in Healthcare).
KTQ is a hospital specific quality certification process in Germany that not only judges the quality of the various medical departments but the entire process of the patient’s journey through the hospital, from admission at the beginning, to discharge at the end of the treatment. The system identifies the strengths and weaknesses of a hospital and a thus provides a foundation for constant improvements.
For more than ten years, Asklepios Hospitals have conducted extensive quality management based on the Asklepios model of integrated quality management (AMIQ). It includes the structure, process, and results-quality and enables the inspection and optimization of treatment processes and the improvement of the quality of results.  To do this, internationally recognized quality models and procedures are applied, including DIN, EN, ISO and EFQM.
AMIQ serves to structure Quality Management measures internally. It provides the framework for various quality modules (analysis, optimization, surveys, process documentation, etc.) AMIQ reflects the continual improvement cycle a plan-do-check-act cycle (PDCA). This assumes that each procedure is regarded as a process and that it thus can be improved constantly.
